A Leap Toward a Global, Customized Productivity Solution
Dote Timer has evolved from a simple time management tool into a customized productivity solution for global users. Now it is expanding its presence into Silicon Valley. From the beginning, Dote Timer has been dedicated to building a unique timer system that maximizes users’ concentration and efficiency. As part of this effort, the team is now taking on the challenge of strengthening its global presence through Silicon Valley’s vast network.
The philosophy behind Dote Timer is inspired by Steve Jobs’ idea of “Connecting the dots.” By dividing time into small dot-units, the app helps users focus more deeply on their passions and goals. Now it is entering the very birthplace of that philosophy: Silicon Valley.
Exploring Global Partnerships in Silicon Valley
To pave the way for global expansion, we visited Silicon Valley in person. We held IR meetings with global tech giants like Google, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Plug and Play to explore potential collaborations. The goal was to expand our global network and pursue innovation in the education technology sector.
At Google, we met with investors and discussed investment strategies in the fields of technology and education. Google VC showed particular interest in projects that combine tech and education, indicating the possibility of support for edtech startups like ours.
During our meeting with AWS, we explored opportunities for developing AI-based and cloud-powered educational solutions. As an existing infrastructure partner, AWS plays a critical role in helping us scale our services globally. For Dote Timer, AWS is an ideal strategic collaborator.
We also discussed potential cooperation with Plug and Play, a global accelerator known for supporting startups like PayPal. Their strong interest in Dote Timer confirms the app’s potential to further expand in the global education market.
Insights from San Francisco
On the last day of the trip, we toured San Francisco and visited a now-park-converted military site near the Golden Gate Bridge. This was once a major U.S. defense installation during World War II, built to prepare for possible Japanese attacks across the Pacific. San Francisco, as a key West Coast port city, developed various military infrastructures during that time.
The city grew rapidly during the mid-19th century Gold Rush but faced several economic downturns afterward. However, the onset of World War II brought new energy to San Francisco. It became a vital logistics and defense hub, attracting resources and capital. Institutions like Stanford University and the early foundations of Silicon Valley began to flourish in this period. Companies like HP—and later Apple, founded by Steve Jobs—emerged from this environment. Similarly, Microsoft was born in nearby Seattle.
Seeing how San Francisco turned crisis into opportunity reminded us of the importance of reading historical trends and preparing for the future. History shows that those who can adapt and respond to change can grow even in difficult times. This is the spirit Dote Timer aims to carry forward as it steps into the global market.
